What is Pydra?
Pydra is a cloud platform for Python web applications.

It is a simple way to deploy our Python based web sites to the cloud. Usually when Python developers have a site to host, they are stuck with running a server even for the smallest site. Pydra is deploys Django, Flask, Web2py, or any Python framework easily to the web for testing and production.

Why?
Deploying our super fantastic ideas to the public took too much time, what a waste.

We were tired of spending development time running so many 256mb ram servers with the same setup of gunicorn, uwsgi, mod_wsgi, nginx, mysql, postgresql, etc. We are very pasionate about development and like building elegant systems. Writing a lot more Python to handle scalaing and automated deployment sounded fun and felt it solved a problem.

When can I use it?
Pydra is in testing right now, with many sites currently deployed.

If you would like to get your apps on Pydra, please sign-up with your email below.

What is a "pydra"?
Pydra is a fusion of "Python" and "Hydra".

Python is the language and a Hydra is a mythological serpant with multiple heads. The Pydra system is based on clusters of load balanced and proxied application servers. So when you think about it, your site is running on a giant cluster of happy snakes.
